Who this is for

Electricians, critical facilities technicians, maintenance staff and anyone who opens a door on energized equipment. If your job puts you inside the limited approach boundary, this is your class.

Why people get hurt. Shock, arc flash, arc blast and the new contact thermal hazard. Real incidents, including data center cases.

Article 105 and 110. The electrical safety program, what makes a person qualified, retraining, and the host/contract employer exchange.

Article 120 — establishing an ESWC. The full process, stored energy, and the 2027 additional-testing requirement.

Finding every source. Hands-on with redundant topology — utility, generator, UPS, static and maintenance bypass, battery.

Article 130 — justification. What actually counts as infeasibility, the seven normal-operating conditions, and the new additional person requirement.

Risk assessment. Shock boundaries, arc flash boundary, incident energy analysis vs the PPE category method, and reading the label.

PPE. Arc-rated clothing, rubber goods and test intervals, thermal hand protection, inspection and retirement, conformity marking.

Permit workshop and evaluation. Build a real energized work permit for a real task, then the written evaluation.
