The regulatory picture

Enforcement. State plan: Nevada OSHA, under the Division of Industrial Relations (DIR), enforces workplace safety in Nevada.

Licensing. Nevada has no statewide journeyman electrician license; electrical work runs under Nevada State Contractors Board C-2 electrical contractor licenses, so worker qualification is employer-driven.

Also in play. Nevada GOED data center tax abatements (up to 75% personal property abatement) plus Storey County's fast TRIC permitting drove the cluster; incentive reform debated in the Legislature (Nevada Current, 2026).

What it means for the work

A remote high-desert park with thousands of traveling electricians rotating through means qualification records, not local custom, carry the program. With no state journeyman card, the employer's 110.4 documentation is the only thing standing between 'experienced' and 'qualified.'

Nevada OSHA state plan plus no statewide journeyman license means worker electrical qualification is employer-driven - strong case for third-party NFPA 70E training and documentation.
